Under the motto “Welcome aboard”, parents of newborn babies in Bremerhaven receive a baby calendar. The AWO visits the family in their home for the present.
The visits are voluntary and will be announced with a congratulatory letter from Mr. Melf Grantz (Mayor of Bremerhaven) and Mr. Councillor Michael Frost (Head of Department for Schools, Culture, Youth, Family and Women).
If you are a parent and would like to request a visit, email info.wab@awo-bremerhaven.de. You can also use the request cards that are available in gynaecological practices and citizens’ offices. The interviews can be conducted in German, English, Russian and Turkish
Families with children under the age of 6 who have newly moved to Bremerhaven can also take advantage of a welcome visit.
AWO Sozialdienste GmbH carries out the welcome visits on behalf of the Office for Youth, Family and Women.
