Pregnancy and Birth
Pregnant women are looked after by gynecologists and/or midwives. The gynecologist/midwife monitors the pregnancy and the development of the baby. If you are pregnant you have to regularly visit the gynecologist/midwife for blood tests, urine tests and ultra sound scans. You will receive a “Mutterpass” (mother passport) from your gynecologist. In this mother passport all appointments and results of the examinations will be noted. Please keep this safe.
Delivery room offers of the different hospitals in Bremerhaven which have a maternity ward are listed below. During birth you will receive help from midwives, child birth nurses and doctors. Midwives are your point of call before, during and after child birth. The after birth care is provided by your gynecologist/midwife.
